Western Digital introduced several products during the late 1970s, including the MCP-1600 multi-chip, microcoded CPU. In 1973, Western Digital established its Malaysian plant, initially to manufacture semiconductors. Chuck Missler joined Western Digital as chairman and chief executive in June 1977, and became the largest shareholder of Western Digital. After this, Emerson Electric withdrew their support of the company. The oil crisis of the mid-1970s and the bankruptcy of its biggest calculator customer, Bowmar Instrument, changed its fortunes, however, and in 1976 Western Digital declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy. For kicks and giggles I formatted it to NTFS while attached as external USB, then reconnected it but no dice. My device manager (Win7) of course does not recognize it as its not even powering on. I cannot feel or hear the drive spin up, and for anyone thats ever held a drive while its on lets just say its quite easy to tell the difference as there is no spinning/wobbling effect or noise. I have tested my cables with several SATA drives I have, all of them work and power the drives just fine, but when I plug it into this WD80EZAZ-11TDBA0, I get nothing.

However when I remove the board and try to install it internally I get no power to the drive. The drive works just fine with the sata/usb adapter connected, boots up, transfer speeds are great, etc. When opening the drive its a WD80EZAZ-11TDBA0.

I purchased a WDBBGB0080HBK-NESN, have used it as an external but now would prefer to have it installed internally as I do not need it to be portable any longer.
